Experisys IT are involved in the community by continually supporting local causes and events. In the past we have been involved in raising money for charities, supplying prizes for charity events - such as Bobath Scotland's Golf Tournament; as well as donating refurbished PC's to Scottish Business in the Community, West Dunbartonshire - an initiative to help secure employment for local residents.
Our ICT Business Analyst (and Company Director), Robert Taylor, is a member of The Earl of Loudoun's Regiment of Foote. As part of the English Civil War Society, they regularly participate in accurate re-enactments, across the UK, of 17th century life and warfare. The main aim of such to help educate people about this key part of our country's history. The regiment prides itself on its skill at arms on the battlefield, its historic realism both in combat and lifestyle, its individual members knowledge of the period and above all its friendly family atmosphere.
On September 5th 2010, Jonathan Blades - one of our Field Support Engineers - ran the Glasgow half marathon to help raise money for a new hospital in Haiti. He managed to complete the race in a respectable 2 hours and 5 minutes, and raised over £500 for the new hospital. After the tragic earthquake in Haiti in January this year, the hospital on the island of La Gonave, not far from Port-au-Prince was destroyed. The island originally housed around 10,000 people, but since the earthquake the population has increased to almost 130,000 with the majority of people homeless and in complete poverty, so the building of a new Lifesafe Building – designed to withstand the likes of earthquakes – is an essential part of getting the nation back on its feet.
Experisys IT have also just launched a local "Events Calendar" at www.dunbartonshire.org. Free to use and to advertise events, this is designed to be an online notice board, giving information about upcoming events in and around the dunbartonshire area. Through this, we hope to help local businesses, organisation and communities to network and promote events they are hosting.
