Wireless networking is a method of connecting computer systems without the use of cabling. It is especially useful where cabling is impractical due to the cost of physical wiring (say between two buildings where a surface would require trenching) or where wiring would only be temporary (say for a one off event).
The installation of wireless networks involves the installation of a Wireless Access Point (AP) (or Wireless Access Points when connecting two seperate building netwoks together) and Wireless network cards in PCs/Notebooks/Printers etc. It's important that all the devices invlolved are not only correctly configured to communicate with each other but that they do so as securly as possible (data transmitted between devices can be 'captured' by anybody in range of the system and with suitable, readily available hardware and software). Experisys IT will always use the highest security settings available on the equipment. It may be necessary to reduce the overall security settings where compatibility with older equipment becomes an issue but the client would be informed of this prior to any work being undertaken.
